Choosing a Conference Table shape is honestly and simply a personal preference first, and then what fits in the room second. This information may serve as sort of a helpful buying guide.
The most popular Conference Table Tabletop shape is the Boat Shaped Tabletop. The Boat Shaped Tabletop subtly tapers on the very ends to create the “boat shape.” It is a very elegant shape that brings refined curves into the meeting room space, which softens the room and improves sightlines. Its design is timeless and it matches with any décor style from modern to transitional to traditional. We offer Boat Shaped Tabletops on most of our Conference Tables:
The Rectangular Tabletop is another popular choice. It makes a statement. It’s is a bold, confident style that says, “Serious meetings happen here.” Some of our Rectangular Conference Tables come with Power Modules already built into the tabletops, featuring (2) AC Outlets and (2) Powered USB. So there is no need to purchase separate power modules for our Conference Tables with Built-In Power. We offer other Rectangular Conference Tables with the option to add any Power Modules we have—so we have plenty of options if Rectangular is your choice of table.
Let’s talk about the Racetrack Shaped Conference Table. Some folks like to call it Oval Shaped, but it’s not truly an oval, although it might be easier to describe it that way, since the word “racetrack” isn’t really a common word used to describe the shape of something. But I digress. The Racetrack Shaped Conference table is truly an elegant option if you give it a chance and pair it with the right chairs. The desired feature about the Racetrack Shaped Conference Table is it has no sharp corners! So it is perfect for schools and any place where children may be present, perfect for hospitals where patients may be present, and excellent choice for libraries and anywhere the table may be used by the general public, and it is the perfect choice for small spaces, small offices, and small conference rooms—because again, it has no sharp corners, but a continuous curvature and flow. If you take a Racetrack Conference Table, pair it with a matching Credenza or Coffee Cabinet, add Power Modules, and a short planter as a centerpiece on the tabletop, you will have a Boardroom worthy of being featured in Designer Conference Rooms & Boardrooms Quarterly—that is, if there were such a quarterly.
Now, we do not want to be remiss in talking about the Racetrack (or Oval) Shaped Tabletop, therefore we must tell you that you can put a Racetrack Shaped Tabletop on almost ANY of the table legs we have. Yes! A Racetrack Shaped Tabletop can be combined with the Panel Legs, the Metal Legs, the Storage Legs with Doors, and the Elliptical Legs that Hide the Wires. How do I do that, you ask? (See, we can read your mind.) Simply tell us you want a Racetrack Shaped Tabletop in the notes during checkout, and we'll happily make the substitution for you, no extra cost. It's our pleasure.
What about Round Conference Tables you ask? Round tables are limited in size: 36”, 42”, 48”, 54”, 60”. Round sort of speaks for itself—it’s a circle. The Round Conference Table works great in private offices, smaller spaces, and is another excellent option for public-use spaces, and for use where children may be present, such as lunchrooms, libraries, schools, hospitals, training facilities, etc.
A friendly, reminder, if you do not find the table you had in mind on our website, we can always build a Custom Conference Table for you—made in the USA and made to Order—in any size, finish, color, with any features you want, and the sky is the limit in design. When we make custom conference tables the lead-time is typically 4-5 weeks, and you get to select everything—the size, the shape, the legs, the edge style, the power (if wanted). What about cost you ask? Yes, a custom made table is more expensive, because it’s handmade for you and made in the USA. But the extra pricing is not eye-popping because here at Phoenician Interiors Office Furniture we always have, and always will, offer Reasonable Prices to our Customers.
Thank you for spending time with us! We hope you enjoyed the read.
